I thought I would put this out to the tribe, I already emailed Severina a while back.
I have had two male neutered rabbits that were found together so they are bonded.
I have had them for about 8-9 months. Once they were fixed, they were fine. Then last month they got into a fight, one got a cut on their inner back leg, it tripped me out a little, and there was blood all over my apartment, like some bad horror movie.
I kept them separate for a while. Things seemed fine until just about 20 min ago. I let them run around the apartment building hallway, to give them some exercise. I check up on them all the time when they are out in the hall. Well I looked out in the hall; some new person who just moved into the build was just standing there watching them fight, which pissed me off to no end. There was fur all over the hall.
I am trying to figure out why they are fighting? I do not want to keep them separated because when one is in the Cage, the other one sits and hangs out with him. I also do not like keeping animals in a cage. I am also afraid I will come home and one of them will be really hurt.
So, does anyone have any suggestions?

We adopted them as a bonded pair, but they started fighting last fall, and now we keep them in separate cages, although the cages are next to each other. I'd love to see them be friendly again, but don't want to see another fight.

Re: Fighting Rabbits?
Mon, June 26, 2006 - 3:04 PMI have been trying to bond 2 of my neutered male bunnies for a year. They'll get along for about an hour, then start fighting. They even fought when they were at the vet together, getting their nails trimmed. Their cages are touching and they seem to like to sniff noses, etc. But when they are loose together, watch out. I guess I need to go back to my basic bonding techniques that worked for them initially. I wonder why it wore off though? I wish I could read their minds.

Re: Fighting Rabbits?
Wed, January 9, 2008 - 11:23 PMI realize it has been awhile since you posted this..but I am wondering if your bunnies ever resolved their issues and became friendly again. I ask because I have two young female sisters who have always been loving with each until last weekend when they broke out in a fur pulling fight. They are not even three months old so they are too young to have spayed. It is very disappointing as I wasn't expecting a problem with sisters.
